Dave Drouillard and Norman Roscher & the Clackwells are are sure to have the house jumping in June!
Norman Roscher
In his own words:
“singer songwriter in the style of Randy Newman, paul mccartney, harry nillson, frank zappa, and Norman Roscher.
I've been writing songs since I was 19, and playing them in various bands starting with basement band, SMIRCH while in high school. After that I performed solo around Richmond, then met Charlotte Kenagy, with whom I performed as Charlotte and Norman. From there we were joined by Debbie "delungs" Eise and performed as Norman and the Hot Slots. Then we formed The Family Jewels with Michael Gee on lead guitar, Wilkie Wilkerson on drums, and Larry Garrett on bass. Charlotte and Debbie added backing vocals. We had a good run for about four years. Then I went in a totally different direction with the forming of Dog's New Clothes, with songwriter friend, Glenn Habel. We focused on entertaining families with an emphasis on music for the "young at heart". We found a niche in Richmond and beyond with this venture. Eventually playing all the museums in town, all festivals, and even the governor's mansion and twice at the White House Easter Celebration. We were the house band for The Richmond Children's Museum for a number of years, plus the musical regulars on WCVE's Rocket Radio with Stephanie Pyle during its many years run. Currently I'm playing infrequently with Norman and The Clackwells. I have two cds with Dog's New Clothes, "Waiting for the Moon" and "It Blows Me Away". also a solo compilation of early material called "Normanthology-the 20's".“
Dave Drouillard
Drouillard began his music career knocking about the coffeehouses of Ohio; New York; and Ontario. He made his first appearance on the venerable WMMS Coffeebreak Concert Series in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1977, Drouillard joined the country-rock band, Yankee, and wrote "Green Eyes Crying in the Rain", which was included on the WHCN Homegrown compilation album.
Later, Drouillard opened for touring artists including Peter Ostroushko, Connie Kaldor, and Jorma Kaukonen. In 1995, Drouillard performed on the WWUH Folk Next Door IV album and released a retrospective recording of original material, Plainsongs.
Drouillard continues to write and perform, dividing his time between Southern New England, the Niagara Region of Ontario, and Virginia.
Please come out and enjoy a great night of original music!
