June is busy, so this month, we are running our favourite night ride. Meet for a blast around local trails, finishing with drinks/food at @BrewdogBrewery.
This ride takes in many of our favourite trails along Kew Boulevard, followed by a blast along Darebin Creek. A gravel bike suits best for this ride, or a roadie with a sense of adventure. Expect a mixture of gravel, single track and bike paths. We even do a hot lap of Preston velodrome!
IMPORTANT - this is a night ride, so you'll need good lights. Not little blinkers for riding on the road, but strong lights for seeing trails. It will be dark. Tables will be booked at Brewdog for those wanting a meal or drink. Pack a bike lock to keep your bike safe too
Curve will put this social ride on Thursday, 20 March 2024. We would love to see you there. Our goal is to get as many people off the couch as possible to explore a slightly more adventurous and fun side of cycling. It doesn't matter how big or small you are, what brand of bike you ride, what you choose to wear, what your chromosomal composition is, etc. - you are welcome, as long as you bring your sense of fun and adventure. If you're coming along, please be self-sufficient and remember that this is a fun social ride - not a race in any way, shape or form. While some of the Curve squad will be riding, there is no formal organisation - it will just be like you're out riding with your mates - nothing more. Please, have the route on your Garmin/ GPS Device.
Please pay careful attention to the route. If you don't have a Garmin/ GPS Device, ride with someone who does. Take it easy on the shared paths and look for pedestrians, animal life, and other locals. Look for traffic, and look after others riding with you on main roads.
Use a bell when possible to alert others to your location. Make sure you have anything to fix a flat/your bike; we don't have any support or a vehicle to pick you up.
