Join the West Baton Rouge Museum on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 6-8 PM for Historical Happy Hour. This month’s Happy Hour will feature a solo performance by Kenny Acosta.
Louisiana Blues legend Kenny Acosta has a list of accolades as long as the list of other legendary musicians he has performed with during his career. His accomplishments include being named the 2019 Louisiana Blues Hall of Fame Inductee and the 2017 Slim Harpo Pioneer Award recipient. Just this year, he opened for Marcia Ball. In his Austin days, he used to play in her band. He has also performed with other iconic musicians including Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert King, Bobby Blue Bland, and Clifton Chenier to name a few.
Kenny Acosta is a magnificent singer, song writer, guitarist, arranger, and producer known for his entertaining presence and his eclectic mix of genres including Blues, New Orleans Street Beat, Funk, Rockin Blues, R&B, Blue-eyed Soul, Classic Rock, and his very own originals.
This FREE event is open to the public. This performance will take place outdoors at the Juke Joint stage on the grounds of the West Baton Rouge Museum near 6th Street. At Historical Happy Hour, the drinks are on you, and the history is on us. All are invited to bring blankets, folding chairs, and refreshments to enjoy on the museum grounds. In the event of inclement weather, the event will move indoors.
