"BRICKS AS METAPHOR" Works by Katrinka Booth and Deborah Hunter
This exhibition will be of fiber artwork that is symbolizing the struggle of African-Americans to live the American Dream during the 1920s in Tulsa, OK and the effects that continue today through systemic racism. This will be manifested through the symbol of “BRICKS” and will contain elements of Poetry by Black/Native American Tulsa Writer/Poet Deborah Hunter who is creating new poetry for the exhibit/performance.

"I feel that art is not tethered to an artist's inspiration. It lives on it's own merit. Inversely, I believe that art inspires reflection, even as it is being made. An entire philosophy can be formed while the artist is in dialogue with a body of work."
