June’s Art Stroll is about to get lit—literally! We’re featuring a glass blower who plays with fire. Come watch molten glass turn into art. PLUS, we are going to have some old school FUN!Art Stroll is on Friday, June 6th, 2025! The store will be open late from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm; with the store being open until 10pm for shopping.
Our Featured Artist is Mike Hurst.
Mike is an Ogden, Utah based lampworker, who specializes in unique pendants, marbles, Christmas Ornaments and more.
He began working with glass in January of 1994. Since that time he has passionately studied and practiced the art, always striving to perfect his techniques and learn something new. In addition to lampworking, Mike has experience with glass fusing, glass etching and neon sign making.
Mike’s work is inspired by nature’s beauty, pop culture, the strange and macabre. Halloween and Christmas are his favorite holidays, which is noticeable in his work. Mike’s Christmas Ornaments and Octopus pendants have become some of his most popular items and his signature pieces.
Mike and his work were featured in the 2020 Lifetime Christmas movie “The Christmas Edition” starring Marie Osmond, Rob Mayes, Carly Hughes and directed by Peter Sullivan. He has also been featured in Glass Line magazine, The Flow magazine, LAMMAGA magazine (Japan) and numerous local publications.

Classes and Events happening during the Art Stroll:
-6:00 to 9:00: Mike will be blowing glass and creating amazing lampwork pieces. Plus you can see all of his new pieces right next to him on the desks. Showcasing all the beautiful glass your eyes can behold!
-6:00 to 9:00: Put down the screens and step back in time—June’s Art Stroll is all about old-school fun! Think hopscotch, bouncy balls, and jacks—because who needs WiFi when you’ve got pure nostalgia? Swing by The Local Artisan Collective for a night of art, games, and good old-fashioned fun out on the sidewalk!
-KC Peek from Seeds of Imagination will be creating a cool hopscotch and we are going to have a blast in front of the store!
-Lance Howerton will have a ton of bouncy balls for you to play with!
-We will have chalk out for you to draw and create with!

-6:00 to 9:00: Drop in Ring Bar. Stop by and pick out parts for a unique custom-made ring. First pick out a stone, then the bezel (metal that holds the stone), and then pick your silver band style. After all are chosen, 16th generation silversmith, Rene, will create your ring while you shop. Ring will generally be ready in less than 30 minutes. Find this in the archway to the studio space
-6:00 to 9:00: NEW Upcycled Vintage Pillow Case Dresses
Jenny Venegas with Aunt GGs will have NEW-to-you upcycled vintage pillow cases for summer. These dresses have adjustable straps and grow with your child. Jenny finds gently used unique and one of a kind pillow cases from estate sales, thrift stores and yard sales. In some cases, the pillow cases have never been used. Find them hanging up.
