Welcome to our 16th women’s only open mat! This is open and free to any and all females!We are hosting these mostly monthly based on our female members’ availability. If you’re a female who wants to get some extra rolls in at no cost, come roll! If you know someone who might be interested, PLEASE share, PLEASE invite them along! Even if they have never trained! We might be biased, but our gym fam is the best, and our open mat ladies are the sweetest and all of our colored belts that typically attend are very helpful, patient, & kind. 💙
Our open mats are super chill and informal. Arrive, warm up on your own or as a group, then we set the timer, put on some music & roll! Feel free to introduce yourself and partner up on your own- since this is an open mat it is less formal than our normal classes. We will plan on rolling in the gi, but if you and your partner want to switch it up before a roll, that’s perfectly fine! You can either bring some no gi clothes or just roll without your gi top to mix it up! We make up our own rules 🤗
👉🏼 this open mat is free to any female, any skill level, and from any affiliation, nothing but good vibes and even better rolls! We want to support our female community and allow ladies to get in some extra rolls with a variety of partners outside of their norm.
👉🏼We have women’s bathrooms on site, no showers- sorry!
👉🏼 Cold AC & lots of fans to keep cool.
👉🏼 we have a free water dispenser- bring your own water bottle if you’d like to use! & water, Gatorades, and Celsius for sale in our cooler with all the bar codes for the various apps accessible.
👉🏼 we sometimes like to provide snacks and drinks! Feel free to bring some for you or to share, some of us are suckers for baked goods 😝
👉🏼 ALWAYS kid friendly- we have a kids area with a tv/cartoons, beanbags, AN ARCADE GAME, lots of chairs and a comfy couch if you need to bring your little one in tow in order to attend! We have a court yard area just outside the door for bigger kids as well as a hallway area where some of our littles might chill during class times. Many of us are moms and we get it!
👉🏼 at the end of class/before anyone leaves, we like to snap a quick group pic! Take all the selfies and share them, tag us on the socials! We do like to snap pics and videos for our social media - if that is an issue PLEASE don't hesitate to let us know, promise that you won't offend us!
👉🏼 friendly reminder to follow good BJJ hygiene - especially: no fake nails/clip your fingers and toes, no make up on the mat (this will always stain someone's gi :( )
The doors will typically open by 1:45 (I will actually start showing up at 1:45 now! 😊) if you’d like to arrive and change and/or stretch a bit, we try to get started when there are a good handful of us. Please make sure to sign a waiver on the desk by the second entrance if this is your first visit, then make yourself at home! Please feel free to let any of our Caridian ladies know if you have any questions!
