Box cars, Reefers and Hoppers move a lot of freight but they aren’t much to see. But when you see a 737, a military tank or an unknown device under a tarp on a flat car it makes you look. When you see a business train of shiny passenger cars you wonder who is on that train and where they are going. The allure of Railroading is real. This month’s theme is a very viewable one. Come and see these and other thought provoking trains at our June Open House.
The Society is located just a few blocks from the Freeway 134/Pacific Avenue offramp (Exit 7A North) and left at Hahn Ave.
The visit is free plus cameras and families are welcome.
The Glendale Model Railroad Society is a 501(c)3 organization that has been building the HO Scale Verdugo Valley Lines since April 1949. We are open monthly for all those interested in Model Railroad and related hobbies. Our railroad is set in 1950’s Southern California and includes the World Famous Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal, Glendale Station, Tehachapi Loop and “Beautiful Downtown Burbank.” Parking is available. Families, cameras and questions are always welcome and it’s free. If you are interested in helping build the Verdugo Valley Lines, memberships are open.
