In our 'Forensic Artist' Workshop , children will learn and experience profile generation, creating FaceID composites, and sculpting a facial reconstruction.These useful techniques incorporate scientific background knowledge and skills for investigating the identity of persons of interest.
This workshop aligns with the NSW School Science Syllabus by promoting hands-on scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through activities like evidence collection and analysis, fostering scientific literacy and understanding of the scientific method.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes early to facilitate their child's settling-in before the workshop. While parents/guardians cannot stay during sessions with other children present, they can wait outside with a view through glass windows.
Our experience indicates that children flourish when given the chance to learn independently in class. This focused learning experience helps them absorb knowledge and develop the ability to separate happily from their parent/guardian, fostering a sense of accomplishment and pride in showcasing new skills.
If you anticipate separation anxiety for your child, please inform us, and we will ensure a smooth transition for both of you. Our staff is trained to handle separation anxiety with sensitivity for both children and parent/guardian.

Dr Meiya Sutisno BSc (Hons) PhD (Med) USYD is a world expert in forensic anatomy and High Court recognised expert witness with an extensive international reputation. She has applied her skills and expertise to a range of victim / suspect identification assignments, notably in the aftermath of the 2005 Bali bombings.
Dr Meiya has worked with the Australian Federal, State and Territory Police and Border Force. She has worked extensively alongside international peer organisations from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and INTERPOL.
Dr Meiya has a passion for inspiring science in our next generation. She holds a Working With Children's Check Number WWC2565201E and registered with the Office of the Children's Guardian, and has developed and delivered classes and courses for children and youth of all ages since 2004.
