July Queer Cuddle Party (07/25/21)

This event is for people who identify anywhere on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum.

Cuddle Party is a 4 hour event that includes a communication workshop focusing on personal boundaries and touch, in which participants have an opportunity to practice these skills by cuddling (or not). It’s a great space to try asking for what you want, saying no to what you don’t want and meeting new people. Cuddle Party is a strictly non-sexual event. I’m a certified Cuddle Party Facilitator. SOME INFORMATION REGARDING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC:

Over the past year we have all been living through difficult times and spending a lot time isolated from other people. Some of us may feel like we have forgotten how to be around other people or make new friends. Attending a cuddle party is a great opportunity to venture out back in the world. Here you can meet new people in a relaxed and cozy setting with a facilitator to help support your experience and whatever emotions may arise for you.

To be in compliance with CDC and APH guidelines, all participants must be fully vaccinated (two week after the final vaccine dose) and show their vaccination card and photo id to be admitted to the event. You are welcome to introduce yourself to the group by the name of your choosing.

At this point in time, no proximate social contact is 100% safe. Here are the precautions that will be in place at the event to help mitigate risk for all participants:

- all attendees are required to be fully vaccinated

- there is a HEPA air filter in each room of the apartment to increase air flow and filter the air

- tickets are available for approximately 12 participants

- unscented hand soap and hand sanitizer will be available for use

- face coverings are optional, but not required

EVENT DETAILS

Doors open at 2:00pm and close at 2:30pm. There is no admittance after 2:30pm.

Please wear pajamas or other comfy clothes.

You are invited to bring snacks or non-alcoholic beverages to share with the group (optional).

Here's what you can expect at a cuddle party: at 2:30pm there will be a welcome circle which orients guests to the rules of cuddle party and has exercises to help practice the rules. Following the welcome circle are a few hours for free-style cuddling, eating snacks, or just hanging out. The event ends with a short closing circle.

TICKETS: All attendees are required to purchase a ticket to attend. Click on the green button to do so. There is the option to purchase a sliding scale/donation based ticket if the individual ticket price makes attending cost prohibitive for you.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: The closest bus stop is at the intersection of Cameron Road and Clayton Lane which is two blocks from the event location.

ACCESSIBILITY: No pets live in the home. There are 32 steps to climb (2 flights) to enter the apartment. Low scent/low chemical space. All gender restroom.

The Cuddle Party is fragrance free event. Here are some important things to do to attend:

- don’t use scented dryer sheets and fabric softeners when washing clothing

- wear clean clothes laundered in fragrance-free laundry detergent and that have not been exposed to smoke or incense

- don’t wear cologne, perfume, body spray or scented oils

- be as scent free as possible with your soap, shampoo, lotion, hair products, etc.
