Kayaking and Camping on the Kansas River with fabulous people for a fabulous time!Join us Saturday July 6th for an epic river adventure! We will paddle the Kaw on Saturday afternoon from Farimont Park River Access in Manhattan to St. George. We'll find the perfect sandbar for camping along this 12 mile section of the Kaw. This will be a relaxing afternoon with plenty of stops on sandbars. Once we choose our spot, we'll get set up for camping and enjoy dinner and time together around the fire. Be ready for some FIREWORKS before bedtime! Sunday morning, we'll wake up to coffee and breakfast around the fire and more social time relaxing before paddling the rest of the way to St. George to get off river.
What: Kansas River Kayaking and Camping
When: July 6th and 7th
Gear drop on Saturday the 6th is at 12pm - at the Fairmont River Access Point in Manhattan. This includes both renters and those with their own kayaks - everyone will need to load gear into kayaks.
Bus check in is at 1pm at St. George at Boggs Landing River Access
We will send a gear list but here is a start: tent, sleeping pad, headlamp, dinner, breakfast, lunch, snacks, 2 gallons of water in multiple small containers. Obviously you will need personal care items, sunscreen, and clothes :D
DGA will provide: guide service, support on the water, pre-paddle to scout campsites and river safety, a ride on the Dirty Bus, fire, coffee, hand washing station and water filters in case we need more water.

Regular Rental = kayak, paddle, life jacket and everything listed above = $155
Club Rental = $130
Regular OYO = bring your own kayak plus everything listed above = $130

What are you paying for? Dirty Girl Adventures, LLC will organize the event, provide a skilled and knowledgeable guide, a sweep paddler and support throughout the event. We will monitor the weather and conditions to ensure that our event and participants are safe. Our knowledgeable and informed guide service includes a leading guide and a sweep guide during the event. We are prepared to provide support including: first aid, knowledge of the environment and locale, safety monitoring, pacing, interpretive information on the environment and location.
In case you are wondering about our refund policy – refunds are given up to two weeks before the date of the event only when the refund is requested in an email directed to [email protected]. After that, there are no refunds. Dirty Girl Adventures may cancel an event due to weather or conditions. Everyone will receive a refund if that is the reason for the cancellation. We will paddle and hike in cool, rainy or snowy conditions. Cancellation only occurs in severe weather or other dangerous conditions.
