On July 5th, join us for First Friday! Enjoy these openings:

- In the Harrison Gallery, Sender/Receiver by Eric Lubrick. Lubrick’s latest body of work offers a unique exploration of the impact of technology on human connections through the lens of still-life photography, merging natural and man-made elements to evoke a sense of nostalgia for pre-digital socialization. Utilizing innovative techniques, including Liquid Nitrogen and a BB gun, these photographs capture the fleeting moment of impact between objects, inviting viewers to ponder the beauty of real-life abstractions and reconsider the value of genuine human connections in the digital age.
- In the City Gallery, We Live Inside A Dream by Joel Atkinson. In his latest photography series, Atkinson explores unexpected views of city life, focusing on Indianapolis's hidden corners. By capturing moments often overlooked, the artist reveals the intricate layers and diverse narratives that compose the city's unique character.
- In the Speck Gallery, tizita by Yeabsera Tabb. Exploring the concepts of memory, nostalgia, and belonging through the lens of tizita (teh-zeh-tah), Tabb delves into the physical and emotional significance of "place" with a blend of printmaking, mixed media, and textiles. Drawing upon childhood memories from Ethiopia, her work invites viewers into a poignant dialogue between the tangible worlds we inhabit and the intangible realms of identity and memory.
- In the Underground Gallery, Holy Spirit Flow by Kristin Whitney. Whitney explores the realm of divine collaboration using acrylics to convey the transformative power of engaging with the Holy Spirit. This collection is a testament to the harmony between human creativity and divine guidance, showcasing how the Holy Spirit's attributes and powers can manifest in our lives through art. The work serves as an invitation to witness the extraordinary outcomes of spiritual and artistic partnership.
- In the Gallery Annex, Flora + Terra by William Denton Ray. While many are familiar with William Denton Ray's whimsical characters and abstract work, this series takes a new direction by utilizing flowers and nature as a vehicle for the theme, abstracting the pieces to seem foreign or alien to typical nature. This series utilizes multiple layers of paint, fluid line work, and bold color in a mixed media format.

All shows will open at 6 pm on Friday, July 5th.
In-person gallery tours will open for visitors Monday-Friday from 9 am - 5 pm. Online galleries will open on July 6th. Make an appointment or view the online galleries at harrisoncenter.org/buy-art.
Special Senior Hours are every Friday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. No appointment is needed.
