Tournament:
Start time is 6:30 pm
End time is 9:25 pm
Limit 16 players
6 games guaranteed with 1-2 additional games based on time and ranking.
Open play from 5:30 pm to 6:20 pm for anyone attending (regardless of registering for the tournament). Limit 16 players for 4 v 4 scrimmage play after warm up/drills. Payment is $5 per person for open play. Those wanting to get into sand volleyball are encouraged to come, along with those will to teach/support newbies growth. You can stay after to watch the tournament and check out the small businesses representing.
Rules for the tournament
- A Block doesn't count as a touch
- A set must be perpendicular to the shoulders (no redirection and drifting sets over the net are legal)
- No scooping or lifting (set balls must not so below the chin)
- No gender rules on blocking
- No open hand tipping. Fingers must be ridged when tipping either with knuckles or poking with fingers over the net (no redirection)
- Cannot block servers or screen during serve. If the other team calls screen, please duck or move to the left or right out of the line of sight.
- Self call two, but please keep in mind while we don't want to continuous stop of game based on called two, we don't want to be mess. Example twos over the next should be called, barely twos call with an additional contact by the same team doesn't have to be called.
- Hard (down) received balls must be received with a flat hand either overlapping or ridged.
Lastly, I encourage you to bring business cards or goodies of a small business you know and love. I'm an entrepreneur who loves to promote small businesses, so share your friend's or trusted neighbor's business!
