In a one-time special performance, French-Caribbean artist Julien Creuzet and his longtime collaborator, Brazilian choreographer Ana Pi, will plunge the audience into an embodied iteration of Creuzet’s ICA exhibition that reimagines his French pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale. Julien Creuzet is a multidisciplinary artist based in France and born in Martinique whose work engages legacies of colonialism. His immersive installation,"Attila cataract your source at the feet of the green peaks will end up in the great sea blue abyss we drowned in the tidal tears of the moon", fills the Beverly W. Reynolds Gallery of the ICA at VCU’s Markel Center this season, transforming it into a liquid ecosystem where video, sound, and sculpture ebb and flow. Doors open and cash bar 5 p.m. with the performance at 6 p.m.
