Dig into a fascinating piece of our Detroit Historical Museum exhibit, "In the Neighborhood!" In 1907 Louis Schlussel opened a bathhouse at the corner of Alfred and St. Antoine streets, featuring Detroit’s first documented mikveh (Jewish ritual bath). Come learn about the 2019 archaeological dig that recovered bathhouse artifacts. Following the lecture, attendees are invited to view the artifacts on display in "In the Neighborhood" and chat with lecturer and archaeologist Julia DiLaura, who was heavily involved in recovering and caring for them.Free with museum admission
