Jules Sheldon & The Boundary Riders play their first headline show of 2025 at The Merri Creek Tavern on March 15th at 8:30pm, joined by the phenomenal Maggie Alley. A regular on the Australian independent music scene since he was 15 years old, Jules Sheldon was discovered and mentored by rock icon Spencer P. Jones who produced his self-titled debut album in 2010.
Since then, he’s added another two albums to his discography, 2015's 'Football Trams Parties & Other Extended Highlights' and 2017's 'Bloodshed & Serenity', each as different from the other, but still uniquely tied together by his careful and detailed songwriting.
Nearly giving up on music, after the tragic deaths of both mentors in Jones and his Beasts Of Bourbon bandmate Brian Henry Hooper, it was exploring country music and some of his favourite songwriters such as Paul Westerberg, John Prine, Tim Rogers, and Townes Van Zandt, which took him back to basics and gave a new perspective on how he could continue.
Crafting a new rockin’ alt-country sound, the result is the album ‘Electric Transport’. But he’s not doing it all alone this time.
New backing band ‘The Boundary Riders’ have stepped into the spotlight and are ready to rock. They are:
Joseph Foley: bass, lap steel, and vocals
James Turner: drums and percussion
