About this Event
Let’s gather in community on the longest night of the year to celebrate the Scandinavian tradition known as Jul!
What is Jul? Jul (pronounced yule) was originally a pagan holiday dating back to the 5th century (perhaps even longer) that marks the return of the sun after the Winter Solstice and lasts for the following 12 days. This festival is still widely celebrated throughout Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
What's In Store: This will be an intimate community event exploring a traditional Nordic holiday while honoring the Winter Solstice. We’ll learn about some meaningful practices of old and new alike, collaborate in a simple ritual, share a full homemade Scandinavian meal, listen to a seasonal story, and make merriment together. Tickets include a full course meal; appetizers, main course, dessert & beverages. All welcome, ages 12+.
Food Restrictions & Allergy Info: Traditional Scandinavian fare is VERY hard to offer as a Vegan meal and therefore we aren't offering a Vegan option. We can accommodate gluten free & diary free folks. There will be enough alternatives for those with allergies or sensitivities. You won't be able to eat everything but we promise you'll be well fed!
