Un monologo femminile ispirato all’Opera di Béla BartÓk, il “Castello di Barbablù”;Teatro No'hma, Milan
19 & 20 June 2024
Judith comprises several phases, including its creation during the Pandemic in Switzerland in 2021, the participation in the Fedora competition in Paris (for young artists with innovative ideas) nominated in 2022, its premiere in London in 2023, the participation now to the Teresa Pomodoro Competition representing Switzerland at Teatro No’hma in Milan. This one-woman opera show is based on the only opera of Béla Bartók (1881-1945), the "Bluebeard's Castle". It is a continuously evolving work that explores and introduces the theme of Opera as a ceremony and healing process, inspired by the therapeutic side of ancient Greek theater. The aim of the project is to address the therapeutic dimension through the arts, returning to the roots of healing through art combining holistic therapies, as it was in ancient greek times. Especially after having experienced Pandemic that brought so much negative emotions and fear into the collective consciousness and alienated us from each other, while opening the Pandora's box of our soul; we all need a therapeutic aspect in our lives, to reconnect with our soul. The stage is treated like a temple and the Parthenon becomes the Bluebeard‘s Castle. Bluebeard becomes the voice of Creator, leading Judith to her Liberation; the Liberation of the Female Principle which has been trapped under the shackles of Patriarchy for centuries. Balance between female and male principles on the planet is the message, how can we achieve inner peace, which will resonate as Peace to the World? Judith is a call to come back home; a call from your soul to Remember Who you are. May the message of Love and Peace that Judith carries, travel to the hearts of the audience and awaken.
