Interested in become a dahlia judge for the fair or other American Dahlia Society sponsored events. Judging school put on by the Federation of NW Dahlia Growers is the best way to do that! IEDS uses and supports Federation trained judges for our events. Judging school is FREE, and you don't have to be a member of the NW Federation of Dahlia Growers. The training will be online and new participants are encouraged to come watch and attend the training at our usual Manito Park Meeting room. Please notify the club if you will be attending at the Manito Park meeting room.
**New to dahilas? New to showing in the fair? Want to be new to judging? A great way to get the feel for judging is to attend the fair for the judging portion as a volunteer "Clerk". Clerking involves you helping the judges during the assessment of the flowers. Clerking and judging is done the Saturday morning of the show, then after the flowers are brought upstairs for the public viewing. Volunteers to clerk get a parking pass and a small stipend for lunch. Clerking also satisfies some requirements the NW Federation wants to become an official judge.
