SUNDAY | NOVEMBER 16 | 1:30 – 2:30 PMNORMA KERSHAW AUDITORIUM | DISTINGUISHED LECTURE
Presented by Dr. Oded Lipschits, Professor of Jewish History in the Biblical Period, Department of Archeology and Ancient Near Eastern Cultures, Tel Aviv University
Dr. Oded Lipschits reveals how Assyrian rule transformed the small kingdom of Judah between 732 and the early 630s BCE, reshaping its leadership, economy, and even the city of Jerusalem. Using discoveries from archaeology and ancient inscriptions, he uncovers changes that biblical texts barely mention—showing how much more there is to the story of First Temple Judah than the Bible alone reveals.
This event is part of the Archaeology of the Biblical Lands Distinguished Lecture Series, made possible through a generous bequest by Norma Kershaw (1924-2020).
Ticketed Event: Members $15 | General $20
