Our spring concert is still some months away but we have started to draft a concert to celebrate the arrival of spring and perhaps even include a joyful glance at the approaching summer sun!We will be performing a programme that includes pieces by Henry Purcell, one of England’s greatest composers. His ‘Jubilate, O be Joyful’ is the inspriration behind the title and poster image we are using. Alongside Bach and Mendelsohn, we will also perform music by the many fabulously talented modern composers that are writing the choral standards for tomorrow. These include Gjeilo and Whitacre. Since summer will be on the horizon we may also throw in some Porter just to add a little swing!
Put Saturday April 12th 7.30pm at St John’s Kirk in the diary for next year and we will look forward to singing in Spring and Summer with you.
