About this Event
Pre-registration is requested for all Green Kirkland events.
Volunteers will help restore critical habitat by removing invasive plants such as blackberry or ivy, planting native plants, and pitching-in with stewardship tasks like mulching and weeding. With your help, this park with have healthy and thriving natural areas for years to come!
All experience levels and ages are welcome following the safety and event guidelines (see below). Tools and training are provided. Events are 100% outdoors and occur rain or shine*!
This is a recurring event led by Green Kirkland Steward Cara.

How to register:
Please use the 'Register on Eventbrite' button on this page. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite.
Registration is requested for all participants to ensure we have enough tools/space.
- Families: please register a name for every participant including yourself and any youth attending with you. You can reserve slots for each family member by adding 'tickets' to your registration.
- Teams/groups: please have each adult register independently OR contact us to set up a closed event.
What to Bring and Wear:
Required:
- Closed toed shoes (e.g., tennis shoes, sneakers, or boots but no sandals)
- Youth Service Agreement (if applicable)
Recommended:
- Wear clothes that can get dirty and protect against thorns
- Long pants, and long sleeves are recommended
- Full water bottle & snacks
- Rain gear and layers OR sun protection as needed
Optional:
- Garden gloves (we can provide if needed)
- Masks/Face coverings are optional and welcome

Meeting Location, Parking & Facilities:
Please note that this is a natural area without any signage. Navigate to 103rd Ave NE & NE 123rd St, Kirkland, WA, 98034 to find the site. Nearby landmarks are North Kirkland Community Center to the north, and Holy Spirit Lutheran Church to the west. See map below for detail.
Street parking is available on nearby side streets. Please be respectful of neighbors and obey all posted signage. Parking is also available at North Kirkland Community Center (a 5 min walk to the site). Carpooling, walking, biking, or busing to the site is always welcome! There is no restroom facility at this site.
Youth Volunteering:
All youth volunteer guidelines can be found on the 'About Volunteering' page on our website.
- Youth under the age of 14 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will remain onsite and supervise the minor for the duration of the event.
- Youth between the ages 14 to 18 years must either be accompanied by an adult OR be signed in by an adult at the beginning of the event OR bring a signed youth waiver form. The Youth and Individual Service Agreement can be filled out digitally or printed with a parent/guardian signature.
The completed Youth & Individual Service Agreement form should be presented to the Green Kirkland Steward hosting the event—hard copy or proof of electronic submission is acceptable.

*Weather
Events are generally held rain or shine but may be canceled or relocated if weather or site conditions are unsafe such as high winds, flooding, snow, lightning, or unsafe air quality (smoke). Participants will be notified via email (if possible) or signage will be placed onsite in the event of cancellation.
Stinging insects (wasps, bees etc)
All of Green Kirkland's restoration sites are in natural areas, and stinging insects such as wasps may be active, especially from May - October. Though we do our best to check sites prior to events for any hazards, volunteers may encounter stinging insects. Please take proper precautions if you know you're allergic (carry an anaphylaxis kit issued by your doctor) and alert your event host of any concerns.
