Explore the world of puppetry through the eyes of 9 year old Juana as she fights to save her society. Written and directed by Chicago artist Rocio “Chio” Cabrera- Coz Juana and the Missing Mayan Book is a performance like no other! In the midst of the Spanish invasion of what is now Yucatan México the Mayans battled for peace independence and cultural preservation. Follow Juana a 9-year-old girl as she sets out on a journey to save the few lasting remnants of the ancient Mayan society. Folktales poetry hope and nature are explored.
