Juan Pablo Rivera Biography:Born in San Luis Potosí, Juan learned to play music at an early age, influenced and guided by his father. Since then, Juan Pablo has experienced the magic of music making.
He studied guitar at the Guitar Art Studio, and flamenco guitar technique at the Mexican Institute of Flamencology, both schools in Mexico City.
Juan graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Performing at the Instituto Potosino de Bellas Artes, San Luis Potosí, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Pedagogy at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, Mexico.
Juan Pablo has had an international career playing as a solo artist and with a Symphonic Orchestra, Theater Musical Pieces, Bands, recording sessions, and Festivals in Mexico, the USA, Germany, Belgium and Norway. For over fifteen years he has been playing and creating new ways to promote Mexican and Hispanic culture through music. With tenor Mauricio Villanueva, he has traveled around the world doing so wherever they went. The world music project ‘ConSentido Project’ is one of them.
Juan Pablo specializes in many genres: Flamenco, Mexican Folk, Afro Cuban, Bolero, Classical, Blues, Jazz, Gypsy, and more.
One of his Highlights is that in recent years Juan Pablo has been accompanying renowned Spanish Flamenco Guitarist, Antonio Reyna in concerts as his second guitar. This has served as a great way to improve his already advanced knowledge in Flamenco culture.
Juan Pablo has recorded two albums, “COLLOQUIUM” and “LATIDOS” with his own music project ‘Sul Tasto Ensemble’. He also recorded guitar and voice on the album, “ConSentido”, by Mauricio Villanueva which is available now on all digital platforms.
