The Journey to Come is Adelaide jazz musician and composer Johnny Turner's debut album, featuring some of Adelaide's finest young musicians. The album showcases Turner's distinctive compositional voice through a variety of genres, in collaboration with the improvisational expression of the involved artists.
Rising Adelaide jazz composer and musician Johnny Turner is proud to announce the release of his debut album, The Journey to Come, arriving in late November 2025 on all streaming services, and in CD format (available on the door). This album is a striking showcase of Johnny's compositional voice - one that spans swing and blues, to more contemporary sounds.
Recorded over two days in July at Wizard Tones Studios with engineer James Brown, the album features a handpicked ensemble of some of Adelaide's most exciting young musicians: Oliver Farnan (trombone), Hugo Evans (guitar), Edmund Black (piano), Daniel Cavallaro (bass), and Jackson Mack (drums). A special guest appearance was made by Thomas Voss (trombone), who will not be performing at the album launch due to being overseas!
This album launch will showcase all 7 original tunes featured on the album, as well as a collection of other pieces. Come down and support some young local jazz, and enjoy an evening of jazz.
