The Cedar Mill Cider Festival will take place on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 1 to 4 pm on the grounds of the historic John Quincy Adams Young House at 12050 NW Cornell Road.In partnership with Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) and Treekeepers of Washington County, the event will also include a brief ceremony and plaque dedication recognizing the significance of the heritage trees on the property.
This designation includes three fruit trees - a Shellbark Hickory, a Bartlett Pear, and a Gravenstein Apple - that are landscape features of the historic JQA Young House and estimated to be around 150 years old. These trees represent an example of early home management and food production, typical of an early farm or residential property of the period. Collectively, they are Oregon’s 85th Heritage Tree Designation.
The FREE neighborhood event, sponsored by THPRD, will feature fresh cider created on antique presses, musical entertainment, and food items available for purchase. There will be a Country Store area filled with a variety of items from local vendors, a history tent, and fun activities for the kids. Don't miss this wonderful family event.
