🎸 Join Tidewater Classical Guitar on Thursday, March 20th, at 7:30 pm at the Williamsburg Library Theatre for an unforgettable evening of music!Two-time Latin Grammy-nominated guitarist, educator, and composer João Luiz, began to play the popular music of his native Brazil as a child. This upbringing was instrumental in building a musical career that has bridged Classical, Jazz and Latin American music, and helped him to discover ways to make classical music education more accessible to minorities. As one-half of the Brasil Guitar Duo—along with Douglas Lora—he won the 2006 Concert Artists Guild Competition, launching an international career with performances on four continents.
Join TCG for a genre bending performance featuring music from the Renaissance to modernity and around the globe, works written and arranged by João, and music composed for him by guitar luminaries such as Sergio Assad and Leo Brouwer.
