Neighbors from across the country came together to walk side by side with the people of the Appalachian Mountains through one of the hardest seasons they had ever faced. Through physical labor, prayers, and generous donations, they stood together—proving that these mountain communities are not forgotten, but seen and deeply loved.
This May we want to celebrate together! The Joy on the Mountain Jubilee is a day to remind us that the sun will shine again, that there is always hope, and that the strength of community is something worth rejoicing in.

📚 Free Books for All Ages – 21st Century Packhorse Librarians will be giving away books, keeping the legacy of literacy alive in the mountains.
🐴 Meet the Mountain Mule Packers – Come see the mules, feed them carrots and apples (their favorite!), and experience a connection to history as we honor the original Packhorse Librarians—whose program began 90 years ago this May as well as celebrate the hardwork the Mountainin Mule Packers have done in the aftermath of Helene
🧸 Mountain Heirloom Dolls – The Tilsher family will be there with their beautiful refurbished American Girl dolls, bringing joy to girls across Western NC.
☕ American Girl Doll Tea Party – A special event for children to enjoy tea time with their dolls.
🚁 Operation Helo – Meet the team who played a vital role in disaster relief after Hurricane Helene.
🎠 Outdoor Games & Activities – Fun for the whole family, with children’s games and (hopefully!) bounce houses.
🎨 Professional Disney Artist – Watch live drawings from an acclaimed Disney artist.
🎶 Live Music – Hoping to finalize some incredible musical performances (reach out if you have recommendations!).
🍔 Free Food! – Thanks to the Moffitt Family Foundation, food trucks will be on-site, offering delicious meals at no cost to attendees.
This day is about joy, community, and hope—a time to celebrate resilience, faith, and the love that binds us together.
