The Music of Brazil – A Global Journey
Master pianist, composer and educator Jovino Santos Neto returns to The Shedd, this time with multiple Latin Grammy and Brazilian Music Award winning Rio de Janeiro composer, guitarist and arranger Mario Adnet.
In this pre-concert workshop, they will share some of the stories and concepts behind their work. Participants are encouraged to bring their instruments (piano will be provided) and learn about the history and development of several Brazilian styles of music, presented in a simple and colloquial language, accessible to all ages and backgrounds. Jovino and Mario will work with workshop participants on charts they have written, and also discuss the specifics of combining piano and guitar together for a performance.
The workshop will be 5pm-6pm Wednesday, November 12
$20 for community members, free to Shedd students & Faculty
All ages and experience levels welcome, instruments encouraged!
