Tell your unique story of coming to Canada through the arts! Telling your own stories in your own voice in your own form – this is the aim of the storytelling series of workshops we are running in May and June 2024. In this series of 3 workshops, you will tell your story of your journey to Whistler and the Sea to Sky area. Focusing on your individual journey, you will explore different forms of art to help you tell your story. You will have the opportunity to present your story, if you wish, to the community at an event on June 27 to celebrate Multiculturalism Day.
These workshops are free. If you choose to do a presentation on June 27, you will receive an honorarium of $300.
Workshops 1 to 3 Wednesday May 14, 21, 28.
Workshop 4, if you decide to present, Tuesday June 18.
Our facilitators are locals Jill Nowak (expressive arts facilitator) and Stella Harvey (author and writer).
If you're interested in meeting other newcomers, want to practice your English in a playful, creative way while having fun with the arts - join us for these workshops.
