Renowned artist Radhika Samson, highly acclaimed for her mastery of the sitar and Odissi dance, leads this Classical Indian ensemble of solo sitar pakhawaj, and tanpura. Accompanied by Tejas Tope on the pakhawaj, they will present a spellbinding musical journey to the East and create a truly special treat for our intimate concert space.

About the performers:
Radhika Samson, a disciple of Hansaveena maestro Pandit Barun Kumar Pal and influenced by Pt. Ravi Shankar, is an accomplished Indian Classical musician and dancer. Focusing on the Dhrupad ang, she specializes in the Surbahar. Founder of Sadhana in 2014, she trains over 125 students in Indian and Western arts. Currently in New York, Radhika is a faculty member at the Chhandayan Centre for Indian Music, teaching Sitar and Odissi dance in Manhattan.
Tejas Tope has been studying tabla with his guru, Pandit Samir Chatterjee, since the age of 5 as well as with Ustad Zakir Hussain for the past 12 years – both of whom Tejas has also had the opportunity to perform alongside. He has performed globally with a variety of art forms (including as a soloist) across the U.S, Europe and India. Additionally, Tejas has studied Pakawaj with Pandit Mohan Shyam Sharma, Pandit Manik Munde, and Shiri Pratap Awad. Tejas is based in New York City.
