A JOURNEY TO NEW ORLEANS WITH CHEF ERIC COOKJanuary 15-16, 2025 | 6pm
A native of New Orleans and a veteran who served six years in the Marine Corps, award-winning Chef Eric Cook is owner and chef of Gris-Gris and Saint John in New Orleans, LA. He is the author of the newly-released book, Modern Creole. Gris-Gris, his flagship restaurant, has been named Eater New Orleans’ Restaurant of the Year and one of the city’s best restaurants by New Orleans Magazine. Cook has most recently been featured on Gordon Ramsay’s: Uncharted on the Discovery Channel. Chef Cook will spend two nights in residence at Seven Acre.
Tickets may be purchased separately but the series is meant to be enjoyed as a pair that offers a stroll through New Orleans, featuring Eric’s two award-winning New Orleans Restaurants. Note: Guests with reservations for both dinners receive a complimentary welcome cocktail crafted in the spirit of the dinners.
January 15, GRIS GRIS DINNER: This dinner shows off Chef Cook’s first restaurant, Gris-Gris, Eater’s New Orleans’ Restaurant of the Year. Growing up in New Orleans, Chef Cook designed this menu to give locals and nonlocals alike the feeling of southern comfort given by food in Louisiana. Bar opens at 5pm. Dinner at 6pm. $80/pp, +20% service fee in lieu of gratuity. Alcoholic and N/A beverages available for purchase.
January 16, SAINT JOHN DINNER: Chef Eric’s second evening showcases his second restaurant, Saint John, which features what he calls “Haute Creole.” This dinner highlights the special dishes that New Orleanians enjoy during the holidays while also encompassing the many cultures that make up New Orleans–Haitian, French, Italian, and West African. Bar opens at 5pm. Dinner at 6pm. $85/pp, +20% service fee in lieu of gratuity. Alcoholic and N/A beverages available for purchase.
