Following double back-to-back festival appearances in South Australia in 2023 and 2024, Melbourne based Roots Rocker Joshua Batten will play his first solo gigs in Adelaide this September in support of his new single “Spring Fever”. Joshua is a genuine performer, with a rare ability to truly connect with his audience. With passionate vocals, accomplished guitar playing, layered arrangements and inspirational lyrics, Joshua displays a depth well beyond his years. Based on his own insights from living with neurodiversity, his original songs offer authentic reflections of introspective moments, humbly presented as universally relatable experiences.
With over ten years’ experience as a full-time musician, Joshua has recorded and released three studio albums and performed at major events including the Australian Open and Grand Prix. His live shows have resonated with audiences and garnered him a dedicated following, with extensive appearances at folk and blues festivals across Australia. Joshua is a proud endorsee of Cole Clark guitars, and is a two-time finalist in both the Melbourne Blues Challenge and the Roddy Read Songwriting Award at Maldon Folk Festival.
Joining Joshua for his Wheatsheaf gig will be local powerhouse singer/songwriter Shaun Holton. A versatile force and a prominent figure in the Adelaide music scene, Shaun has released music under his own name and through his project “Projected Twin”, and has performed with acclaimed musical collectives such as SingIt Live, RocketMan Orchestrated, and The 27 Club. Shaun will be debuting tracks from his forthcoming album "The Purple Book" ahead of its release on October 24th.
