These organ recitals are part of the programs for the American Guild of Organists 2024 National Convention headquartered in San Francisco from June 30 to July 4, 2024. These recitals are open to the public, and tickets are not required. The program is being offered twice – first from 9:00A to 9:45A, and again from 10:45A to 11:30A.
Joseph Fala is the Director of Music at University Presbyterian Church on the campus of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he oversees an inter-generational program, comprising four choral ensembles, a newly established concert series and growing collaborations with the university, including a choral scholar initiative and sacred music resident program.
Mr. Fala’s program includes Saraband for the Morning of Easter by Herbert Howells, Sweet Hour of Prayer by William Bolcom, Taiwanese Suite by Chelsea Chen, Light Within by Jack Langdon, In Memory – H.H.L. by Dan Locklair, and Sonata No. 8 in e minor (Opus 132) by Josef Gabriel Rheinberger.
