Material Memory presents a new body of ceramic works by Canadian-born, Philadelphia-based artist Jordan McDonald that engages Philadelphia’s architectural and artistic legacy through terracotta traditions, slip trailing, and references to the city’s historic craft culture. The exhibition also pays tribute to the work and enduring influence of Violet Oakley, whose murals and public works helped shape Philadelphia’s creative identity. The exhibition runs through June 13th, 2026 and is accompanied by a reading library of reading materials corresponding to the exhibition curated Jordan McDonald in partnership with Ulises Books. Refreshments will be served by Wissahickon Brewing Company for the occasion.
