6 years on from their debut EP, “A Stroke of Insight”, Jono’s Mate Sheep celebrate the release of their second EP, “These Are Our Beautiful Places”. “These Are Our Beautiful Places” encapsulates the Sheep’s melancholic nature, running a narrative based on real and observed experiences from national tragedies, natural disasters, and the depressing decline of rural Australia. The record took some work, with their first attempt at recording the entire EP live going completely haywire. It remains unclear whether recording live was too difficult for the Sheep, or if it was the excessive amount of good fun and late nights/early mornings that led the live recording attempt astray. Regardless, the band was better for the run, taking the recordings produced on the weekend as a “pre-production in hindsight”, and setting back to work over the course of a few months to nail down the EP in all its beauty at Millsy’s temporarily owned property just outside of Murwillumbah. The band is incredibly proud of this record, and on a very special evening, which will include some special guests (who also feature on the EP), it would mean the world to us if you were to join us for a celebration of a very special record.Support acts to be announced soon.
