Joni Sweater Workshop7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7, 8/14, & 8/21; Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30pm at Casting On
The Joni top is a beautiful, lightweight summer top, seamlessly knit from the top down.
German short rows are used for shaping the shoulders, the sleeves and the rounded hem.
Learn to read and love charts! The lovely lace panel at the front has only charted instructions, so this project will force you to embrace charts and appreciate the added value they can provide to pattern instructions.
The pattern recommends that it be knitted in a cotton or linen blend yarn. You will learn tips for knitting with, caring for, and wearing plant based fibers. There is a lot to love!
How the Workshop works:
Students will sign up for the workshop, but can for the most part attend whichever dates and sessions they choose. They can attend just 1 or two of the classes, or all of the scheduled sessions.
Attendance at the first class is recommended.
During the first class we will walk through the pattern, sizing, gauge, and the construction of the sweater.
After the first class, students will knit at their own pace. There isn’t a timeline to follow, just bring your knitting, and your questions, and we all learn together.
Pattern: The Joni pattern by: Natasja Hornby can be purchased on Ravelry or at Casting On. €7.90
Yarn: The pattern recommends a sport weight yarn. Several options in stock at Casting On.
Needles and Notions: The pattern recommends a size 4 circular needle 24-32” in length, and size 3 needles. However, you will want to choose the needle size that allows you to get a gauge of 21 sts/4”
Class Cost: $15 per student, per session
Stop in at Casting On (preferred) or email [email protected] [email protected] to be invoiced to reserve your spot.
