About this Event

A stellar lineup with Jonathan Wires on bass, Miguel Alvarado on saxophone, Ty Bailie on keys, Jonathan Rogerson on guitar and Marlon Patton on drums.
Bassist, composer, and educator Jonathan Wires is originally from New Hampshire, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from the University of Memphis. In 2011, he pursued a Master's Degree in Jazz Studies from Middle Tennessee State University, which brought him to Nashville, TN. In addition to performing and composing, Jonathan has been an active educator at both Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and Nashville State Community College. Under Jeff Coffin's Ear Up label, Jonathan released his first recording entitled "Weaving" which features Jeff Coffin, Matt Endahl, and Joshua Hunt with guest appearances by Lindsey Miller, Don Aliquo, James Westfall, and Jamey Simmons.
Miguel Alvarado, a native of Tampa, Florida, began his professional music career at the age of thirteen, performing with various RnB, Latin, and Rock groups in the Tampa Bay area. He holds a degree from the University of North Florida and currently serves as an adjunct professor at Middle Tennessee State University. Miguel’s outstanding talent was recognized with the Nashville Industry Music Awards Jazz Performance Award, coinciding with the release of his critically acclaimed album Idile on Ear Up Records. He’s a dedicated educator, guiding his students to prestigious festivals and helping them excel in college programs and collaborations with industry icons. Most recently, Miguel toured throughout South Africa with Standard Bank Artist of the Year Darren English as the saxophonist in his quintet.
Born and raised in Georgia, Marlon Patton is a Nashville-based drummer and music producer/engineer. Marlon hails from a long line of drummers dating back to his grandfather, Phil Patton, who played in the Chicago big band circuit. Marlon’s dynamic range, impeccable time, and incredible musicality make him the perfect match for a variety of performances, from jazz to hard-hitting rock. On any given day, you could catch him at a world renowned venue, in a dark corner improvising with a bunch of electronics, or in the kitchen perfecting his famous huevos rancheros. He is the first call for so many musicians not just because of his impeccable time, but because of the incredible musicality of what he delivers. He has toured, performed and/or recorded with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Jim White, Larkin Poe, Delta Moon, Gordi, Lera Lynn, Liv Warfield, Lonnie Holley, Houston Person, Jeff Coffin, Joel Frahm, Shahzad Ismaily, Col. Bruce Hampton, Takana Miyamoto, John Patitucci, Lew Soloff, Randy Brecker, Bobby Shew, Rufus Reid, Marcus Printup, Kevin Bales, Wycliffe Gordon, TOKU and Russel Gunn. He has recorded for labels such as Sony, Universal, Jagjaguwar, RH Music, Yep Roc, Ropeadope plus many more independent releases and his drumming has been in soundtracks on Adult Swim, ABC, and HBO.
Jonathan Rogerson is a guitarist and composer based in Nashville, Tennessee. Jonathan Rogerson redefines musical boundaries with his genre-blurring guitar artistry. Seamlessly fusing modern jazz, classical, and pop influences, he creates an original voice that resonates deeply. Jonathan’s lyrical melodies and compositions transcend conventions, captivating audiences while taking them on a musical journey. He has performed with jazz greats Gary Thomas, Warren Wolf, Tim Green, Kris Funn, Dave Ballou, and Joshua Davis to name a few. He has also performed with the National Symphony in Washington DC as well as performing across the country with Neo-Soul artist Russell Taylor opening for acts like Isaac Hayes and Jill Scott. Besides playing live Jonathan loves studio work, both as a session guitarist and a producer. He maintains a busy production schedule writing music for TV, films, and advertising.
Ty Bailie moved off his family's alfalfa hay farm in Mesa, Washington to Seattle to give the musician thing a try and quickly became the go-to B3 organ and keyboard player in town. Known for being Katy Perry's keyboardist since 2015, Ty's diverse talent and interest in all things music has lead to him performing or recording with a myriad of musical icons including: Steve Cropper, Gladys Knight, Tanya Tucker, Peter Frampton, Wanda Jackson, Kenny Burrell, Dave Mathews, Robbie Robertson, Duff McKeagan, Ellie Goulding, Adam Lambert, Ann Wilson, Ace Frehley, Mike McCready, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Counting Crows, Mudhoney, and with members of Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Yes, Tool, Snarky Puppy, Zappa Plays Zappa, the Fastbacks, Presidents of the United States, The Posies, Screaming Trees, and Truly. A founding member of the award-winning progressive jazz group Ego Band USA and indie rock band Dept. of Energy, Ty also directs, produces, and leads his own Hammond organ-based jazz groups around his current home of Nashville.
