Jonathan Karrant - TheJohnny Mercer SongbookSinger Jonathan Karrant salutes the music of legendary lyricist Johnny Mercer. Mercer's compositions made a significant impact on the Great American Songbook, including songs like "Autumn Leaves", "Moon River", "Skylark" "Summer Wind" and so many more. Mercer was a top writer for Capital Records in the1950's and 60's and collaborated with several iconic composers such as Henry Mancini, Johnny Mandael and Herold Arlen just to name a few. His songwritingwas considered to be very prolific and provocative,creating word images through his lyrics, triggering thoughts and emotions.With a repertoire that spans classic jazz standards and contemporary interpretations, Karrant brings a modern elegance to the timeless genre of jazz. Karrant, who has recorded several of Mercer's songs, will perform many of Mercer's most popular hits on October 25th, 2025. Karrant will also give you a peak of some of the songs off his most recent album.Jonathan Karrant's album,On and On, hit No. 4 on the Billboard Jazz charts and his albumLivehit No. 2 on the iTunes Jazz Charts.
