Ana Gamboa is a composer, sound artist, and experimental cellist. Her music navigates the boundaries between saturation and ambiguity within the Latin American context that surrounds her. Through her musical practice, she seeks to create soundscapes that transcend specific genres, drawing inspiration from her travels across Latin America. This journey has allowed her to absorb and reinterpret the contemporary voices of the region, helping her break away from the Eurocentric perspectives that often dominate global musical appreciation. Her work is deeply influenced by free improvisation, experimental music, and noise. She has toured in several countries in South America, Mexico, and the United States and has received various awards. Her works have been commissioned, programmed, and performed at numerous festivals, concert series, and composition residencies in Latin America and Europe. She studied cello with Marcelo Brú, and music theory, analysis, and composition with Graciela Tarchini. She earned her degree in Composition with Electroacoustic Media from the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes (UNQ).
