Jon Dasilva’s career as a DJ and producer has spanned over three decades, with releases on renowned labels like Ellum Audio, Rush Hour, Soma, and Mute. Notably, his collaboration with Maceo Plex earned the Best House Track award at the International Dance Awards in 2012-13 for “Love Somebody Else.” He continues to innovate with his band, The Virgo Mechanically Replayed, and his label Moiré Product, which debuted in 2018. Dasilva’s influence is highlighted by DJ Moonboots, who recalls his genre-defying sets at The Hacienda, where he seamlessly blended disco, house, and experimental soundscapes, leaving a lasting impact on the Balearic scene.

“Well Jon to me was the most influential Dj in my career really. He showed me the way. Not only did he give me my first breaks, my first proper, proper breaks, he taught me how to build DJ sets. I used to go and watch him play from 9pm and follow the whole night and listening to the way he crafted his dj sets and his use of a cappella and sound effects was just mind-blowing. He was so ahead of the game. I don’t think there’s another more influential person on my DJing career really.”
