Jollof rice is a one-pot rice dish native to many countries in West Africa. Some consider it the predecessor to the cajun dish, jambalaya.
After Nigeria made a clean sweep of the Jollof Festivals in 2017, they haven't won the series since. Liberia won the Jollof Festival '18 series, Sierra Leone stepped up in 2019 to clinch the series, leaving the gates wide open for possibilities in 2022.
Since Ghana knocked Nigeria out of the "Jollof Derby" for the World Cup qualifiers last month, expectations are high for Ghana to win the Jollof Festival 2022 series.
Will Nigeria allow Ghana to knock them out of another major competition?
Will Liberia who are desperate to see a series win since their 2018 win make a 2022 comeback?
And for the first time in CHICAGO!
Who will win the Jollof Wars CHICAGO 2022?!
EAT your way through the best Jollof rice dishes CHICAGO has to offer at 1st annual Jollof Festival, CHICAGO.
We've challenged CHICAGO Jollof chefs and restaurants to come up with exciting takes on this classic comfort food.
Festival attendees will have an opportunity to cast an anonymous vote for the best-made Jollof during the event.
