~~~ Jolene Dixon ~~~
Jolene’s what they call a unicorn - a rare breed of singer-songwriter raised by Music City, and by two musical parents who have worked with Johnny, Willie, & Emmylou. Her dad, celebrated sound engineer and songwriter Donivan Cowart, worked with Dolly. Jolene's name was going to be Wendy.
A studio mouse from the time she was born, she soaked in the influences of Emmylou, Lari White, and Lee Ann Womack. She listened to Roseanne Cash records being mixed and Rodney Crowell songs as they were written, teaching her the power of sharing our stories through music; the empathy, healing, and beauty a song holds. As she grew up and started collecting records by Sheryl Crow, the Chicks, and Fiona Apple, her blend of roots Americana, folk, & 90s rocker chick developed into her sound and a storied life, her coal mine.
Recently off the road with her adopted "Uncle" Rodney Crowell, Jolene is currently raising funds to record an EP due out soon featuring the song "Bloom" written with Grammy award winner Melody Walker.
~~~ The Long Short ~~~
Formed from a shared fascination with fiddle music, The Long Short is an old time Appalachian music duo. Based in Morgantown, West Virginia, the pair features Claire Silbernagel on fiddle and Mason Atha on guitar. They weave together spirited melodies and driving rhythms, offering listeners an authentic yet revitalized glimpse into the old time tradition.
~~~ Annick Odom ~~~
Annick Odom creates stripped-down, story-first folk using just her voice and upright bass. Drawing on Appalachian ballads, archival research, and her own songwriting, she crafts performances known for their evocative blend of Appalachian traditions, contemporary composition, and narrative performance. Her work bridges the old and the new—bringing together field recordings, original songs, and community voices into something wholly her own. Described as “hauntingly beautiful” (Classical Post) and “an adventure in every song” (VPRO), her music moves fluidly between the intimate and the expansive.
Born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia, Annick studied classical bass and clarinet before spending several years performing across Europe. She returned home to dig deeper into traditional music. In performance, she often incorporates crankies—hand-cranked illustrated panoramas that visually accompany her songs—creating immersive sets that combine music, image, and story. Her solo bass/voice project resonates with audiences in folk, experimental, and classical spaces alike. Annick has performed her songs and stories at the International Society of Bassists Convention, Rewire Festival (NL), ZomerJazzFietsTour (NL), Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival (NL), Herbe Bleue (France), MuziekPublique's American Roots Festival (BE), Oh My Ears! Festival (AZ), and the Vandalia Gathering (WV), the WV State Folk Festival (WV).
