Join us on December 21st for a night of books and chocolate as our store celebrates the holiday season in Sayville with our second annual Jolabokaflod!Jolabokaflod* or 'Christmas book flood' is an Icelandic tradition in which people gift books and chocolate to each other during the holiday season. It stems from World War II when most resources were in short supply but paper was able to be imported easily. While we are not Icelandic, we absolutely love this tradition and want to share it with you as we love books and chocolate!
We will be co-hosting this event with the Sayville Bean who will be bringing yummy hot chocolate to our shop and Brunch Sayville who will supplying us with tasty baked good! We will have books wrapped in brown paper with genres written on them for you to pick from a gift basket. Grab a book and pair it with some hot chocolate for $10. Then, hang out with us as we celebrate the holiday season in Sayville.
There will be a reading of 'Twas the Night before Christmas at 630pm for the kids.
Come with an Ugly Sweater and be entered into the holiday raffle!
