Beginning Thursday, December 19, the Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton invites patrons of all ages to celebrate Jolabokaflod with us during the holiday season. Jolabokaflod, or the Yule Book Flood, is a beautiful Icelandic tradition of exchanging books on December 24 and then spending the evening reading them and eating chocolate. The library will have beautifully wrapped books with chocolate for all ages available for pick up, while they last. We ask that books be limited to one per patron.Gift books will be available beginning Thursday, December 19 during our regular business hours until December 23 or until they are gone, whichever comes first. All gift books have been generously donated to the library.
Library hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday and Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The Bill Memorial Library, a landmark on Groton Heights since 1890, is located at 240 Monument Street in the City of Groton, near the Groton Monument and historic Fort Griswold.
