About this Event
Our panel discussion will be chaired by Jamie Shields, multi-award winning speaker trainer and consultant, and named on the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 List 2024 as one of the most influential disabled people in the UK.
Members of the panel will share their lived experiences of how they have dealt with sensitive issues arising in the workplace and will be joined by specialists in the disability space.
There will be two discussions of approximately 30 minutes each on the topics:
- Removing the fear of disability and having respectful conversations about disability in the workplace; and
- How to embed allyship and acceptance in the workplace through intentional conversations.
The venue is accessible and there will be a British Sign Language Interpreter present.
The colour purple has been increasingly associated with Disability, symbolising a new positive narrative about the contribution of disabled people in the workforce and the wider community. In this respect, please consider wearing some purple on the day e.gs. a purple tie or scarf.
It will be a great opportunity to network and learn how you and your organisation can become more inclusive.
Refreshments will be provided on arrival, in between discussions and after the event.
