About this Event
We are excited to invite you to a day of service with the Food Bank For NYC, the largest hunger relief organization of the city. This is an incredible opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of New Yorkers in need while fulfilling Fulbright's mission of empowering individuals and fostering community and global understanding.
On Saturday, November 2nd, we will gather at the Food Bank's Community Kitchen and Pantry in West Harlem to feed our neighbors. As volunteers, we will participate in activities such as packing and distributing grocery bags to those in need, ensuring our neighbors have access to essential food supplies.
But that’s not all! After our volunteer efforts, we will celebrate the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) with a delicious lunch at El Mariachi restaurant (just half a block from the volunteer site), courtesy of the Fulbright Greater NY Chapter. Our day of service offers a chance to connect with fellow Fulbrighters, share stories and experiences, enjoy a taste of an important cultural tradition in the city, and give back to the community we all love!
For this specific shift, we are only able to recruit 8-10 volunteers. If you sign up, we kindly ask that you let us know by Monday, October 28th whether you cannot make it so we give a chance to others on our waiting list. We are organizing a bigger volunteer day in January so stay tune. Ready to lend a hand? Hurry up and sign up NOW to volunteer with us.We can’t wait to see you there!
