Help us map the seabed, before we start restoring the area. You know how to map polygons underwater? Your help is precious !
During the last dive exploratory dive in Bukta, we identified three types of seabed:
1- Sand
2- Loose rocks
3- Smooth flat rock

To align with the citizen science methods co-designed with marine biologist and Associate Professor Andreas Altenburger at the Norges Arktiske Universitetsmuseum, we first need to understand the extent of these three seabed types. That means mapping them! This would be a piece of cake on land, but with your creativity, motivation, and expertise, we’re ready to take on this challenge together. Let’s make it a successful day!
No diving experience is required to participate in this event.
The only requirement is to sign up on Rissa's website.
You can contribute from land or in the sea.
Rissa does not provide diving equipment. If you don't own a wetsuit, we recommend that you become a member of SUT. This would give you access to all the equipment you need to snorkel or scubadive.
