Ages 8 to 18.All genders and skill levels welcome!
Roller derby is a fun and inclusive sport that will help your child work with a team, build confidence, stay active, and make new friends.
Junior Roller Derby practices take place at the Cosmo Civic Centre on Wednesdays and Sundays.
We don't require any prior skills to join, we are excited to teach your child to roller skate and learn the sport. We have a diverse group of all ages, sizes, and identities. We encourage our athletes to support each other and to be who they want to be in a judgement free space.
And don't worry, we teach them everything they need to know to play safe long before they start playing at a full contact level.
Register for the season now, or come to one of our 'try it' days on Sept 7 or 14 to see if it's for you. On try it day we will have all the gear needed for your child to try it out, but gear is limited and is first come first served.
Once you join you will need to purchase your own equipment, which can seem intimidating for a sport that most people know nothing about, don't worry, our coaches would love to help you out with getting the correct gear, you can send an email to Terror-dactyl (yes thats her derby name) at [email protected] and she will gladly give you all the advice you require.
Gear can be purchased online from multiple sites, our favourites are:
Badgirlfriendskates.com
Rollergirl.ca
Nerdskates.com
Locally at Escape Sports or second hand on MarketPlace.
