Sat 10th December at the majestic Thornbury Theatre featuring you, YES YOU!
Join a performance team and showcase your inner child so that your family’n’friends will finally understand why you miss family dinners, afterwork drinks and arrive home late on a school night.
Afraid of the stage? Don’t worry cause you won’t be alone, your friends can join* the performance, your instructor will be in your corner and to wow the audience the amazing Latin big band TUMBAO SOCIAL will be playing live feat. Carlos Castillo as backing DJ.
There are 5 teams to choose from, do one or do them all.

SALSA INT/ADV PERFORMANCE TEAM with Abdo Dalloul & Juiz Christoforou
Commencing Sunday 25thSeptember – Sunday 4th December
(10 weeks Excluding Melb Cup Long weekend)
3.15pm – 4.15pm at The Melb Salsa Studio Collingwood
Life is better when you dance!
Be a part of this amazing Salsa performance team with the popular dancing duo Abdo and Juiz.
The choreography in this course will include Salsa partner work (on 1) to an energetic Salsa song, adding some shines, tricks and dips to keep the audience on the edge of their seat!
You will love the connection you’ll form with your team mates during this course, having fun training together, and celebrating everything dance!
You do not need to have a partner to register.

Entry is via audition only.
AUDITION DATE: Sunday 11th September 4.30pm sharp at the Melbourne Salsa Studio.
You will take part in a group salsa class, you will not be dancing on your own and it will not feel like an audition. There are limited places so please register your interest with us now!
Once selected, you must be available to attend the 10 week performance course and perform at the Melbourne Salsa Showcase on Saturday 10th December.

BACHATA INT/ADV PERFORMANCE TEAM with Kiki Lopez & Julian Beltran
Commencing Sunday 25thSeptember – Sunday 4th December
(10 weeks Excluding Melb Cup Long weekend)
4.30pm – 5.30pm at The Melb Salsa Studio Collingwood
This year's bachata performance will be jammed with spicy flavour. Bachata moderna, Dominicana, and Sensual. Don't worry about which one you like 'cause you'll get the lot.
During the performance course you will connect with every single team member and by doing so will help you connect with any person you dance with on the social dance floor. You will also be learning musicality, footwork, body movement, and more.

CUBAN SALSA RUEDA INT/ADV PERFORMANCE TEAM with Abdo Dalloul
Commencing Tuesday 27th September – 6th December:
(10 weeks Excluding Melb Cup Long weekend)
9.00pm – 10.00pm at the Melb Salsa Studio Collingwood
Be dynamic on stage with this funky Cuban Salsa Rueda performance course lead by accomplished Salsa instructor Abdo Dalloul.
You will get to the heart of this Cuban popular social dance with unique Rueda de casino patterns, Cuban turns, body movements and dancing games. Improve your musicality and have fun with an incredible group of salseros!

***INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED DANCERS ONLY***
Audition is not required, to join you must have danced Cuban Rueda Intermediate level for at least 1 year.

SALSA SHINES INT/ADV PERFORMANCE TEAM with Frankie
Commencing Sunday 25thSeptember – Sunday 4th December
(10 weeks Excluding Melb Cup Long weekend)
2.00pm – 3.00pm at The Melb Salsa Studio Collingwood
Frankie’s Men’s & ladies Salsa Shines Team;
Will be a fast paced performance to the 1966 hit La Malanga Brava by Harlem’s father of Latin Boogaloo, Joe Cuba.
Your routine will be jam packed with cool funky moves you can carve the floor with. You won’t need a partner to practice with so it’ll be easy for you to master your moves in the kitchen, and finally, if you join the team you’ll sharpen your salsa skills, gain floor confidence and come out the other end a grounded appealing dancer.

SAMBA BEG 2/INT PERFORMANCE TEAM with Rebecca Smiley
Commencing Thursday 29th September – Thursday 1st December
7.30pm – 8.30pm at the new Melb Salsa Studio Collingwood
Want to experience the thrill, energy and excitement of Carnival?
Bringing inspiration from her own time in Rio, Brazil, performing in Rio Carnival and training with some of the best in the field Rebecca will incorporate the five elements of samba which create the foundation for the energetic, cultural and vibrant dance of Rio de Janeiro.
You will perfect your samba no pé (samba on the feet) and its varying speeds with different styling as well as parading, footwork (tricks), body movement and posing.
Find your inner samba queen and dance with passion and confidence in a class of supportive women, lead by a caring, passionate and energetic teacher.
Team costumes will be a glitzy, making you feel like a sparkling, stunning and confident woman!
***Beginner 2 to Intermediate level ***
You can join this Performance team if you have completed at least one beginner course and can confidently dance the Basic Samba step in time.
You must be available to attend the 10 week performance course and perform at the Melbourne Salsa Showcase on Saturday 10th December.

Course Guidelines for students:
• Students are advised to not miss more than 2 lessons.
• If a student misses a lesson he/she must catch up with a private lesson.
• Must arrive 15 mins early every week to stretch and warm up.
