About this Event
A forming troop is your opportunity to meet new girls your age and participate in fun things to do. Don’t miss your chance to grow, learn, and laugh with new friends by your side!
The goal of a forming troop is to attend four staff-led troop meetings, with caregivers learning how to help lead troop meetings along the way. At the end of the session, 2-4 adult caregivers are needed to volunteer to assume leadership of the troop going forward. The meetings are held every other week for six weeks on the following dates:
- June 10
- June 24 (this meeting location is at Pioneer Park for some fun outdoors!)
- July 8
- July 15
This event is free and open to all incoming kindergarten and first grade girls. This is not a drop off event; a caregiver should stay with their girl and help out as needed.
Girl Scouts:
■ Grow social skills through in-person meetings with other girls their age
■ Find new ways to practice kindness, bravery, and generosity
■ Earn special badges and pins to wear as a reminder of the new skills they’re learning
■ Gain confidence and pride in their abilities
■ Explore the outdoors and spend time in nature
■ Give back to their own community through service
